SIEMENS ITT 2018-19

eITT 2019 Participation

A call for participation was sent from Innovation Think Tank Headquarters to the Acıbadem ITT team on April 2019. Teams were given a chance to create project proposals to be developed for this year’s external Innovation Think Tank (eITT) event. eITT is an annual exhibition organized by Innovation Think Tank which is a part of the Chief Technology Office of Siemens Healthineers. The event focuses on open innovation and co-creation in the area of healthcare. Best practices at our various ITT locations and collaborations along with applicants from other institutions, startups and industries will be presented on July 11th 2019 in Erlangen, Germany. Five different teams worked on different chronic illnesses, looked for pain points and areas that solutions could be developed. These solution ideas were then placed on a patient’s lifespan, projecting which areas of life these solutions would impact, creating a bigger picture for the illness as a whole.
The illnesses that were focused on are:

• Diabetes

• Chronic Kidney Disease

• Migraines

• Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

• Colorectal Cancer

These five teams showed great effort in preparing their solution ideas and presented them successfully to the jury. After the first round of presentations, two teams were selected for further evaluation. These teams that focused on COPD and Colorectal Cancer, were asked to prepare posters and present in the second round of jury evaluations. It was decided that team number 3 and 1 with their projects;

‘COPD management’ and ‘Colocare: Colorectal Cancer Prevention and Management System’ would get to participate in eITT this July in Erlangen with the support from Siemens Healthineers.
